    Ouray is honored to kick off the 2026 celebration series as the inaugural drone show location, lighting up the winter sky in unforgettable fashion.

    The drone show will be viewable from the west side of Main Street (with the best views from the south end of town) and during the RAB Pool Party at Twin Peaks Lodge and Hot Springs.

    UpstART, Ouray County’s own professional theater company, presents John Kolvenbach’s Love Song, with performances Feb 6 through 9 at the Wright Opera House.

    Just in time for Valentine's Day! An all-local cast performs Love Song, by John Kolvenbach at The Wright Opera House. Beane is an oddball who can't figure out how to "people." Joan laments the woeful inadequacy of the human race. Harry just wants to decode Beane and maybe make out with Joan once in a while. A terrifying burglar wants Beane's clothes. Funny, fast paced, and surprisingly touching, John Kolvenbach's slightly warped comedy about love "is a rhapsody to the power of love in all its forms."

    Winter Exploration | | Feb. 7 2026 | 9AM-1 PM | Ouray Visitor Center

    Nature, in 4 Seasons: Naturalist hikes led by San Juan Mountain Association Guides.

    Are you interested in connecting with the landscapes of Ouray? Do you desire more knowledge of the regional plants and animals that inhabit the San Juans? Or do you simply wish for a fun and engaging exploration that you can share with your family?

    If any of these motives resonate with you, come join the knowledgeable Naturalist Guides of the San Juan Mountains Association for our 4 part Nature Exploration of the Ouray Region.

    These outings will broaden your awareness of the species that call the San Juans home. We will be engaged in moderate hiking, species identification, and habitat exploration. Each hike will be focused on a different set of “residents” who stand out during the varied seasons of the year.

    Groups will meet at the Ouray Visitor Center at 9:00 a.m. Programs will last until 1:00

    4th Annual Ouray Winter Wine Festival | February 14 | Session 1 (12-3 pm) or Session 2 (4-7 pm)

    Attendees will get an intimate experience sampling from seven wineries, two distilleries, and one cidery from Colorado’s Western Slope. By the glass and/or bottle purchases can be enjoyed fireside amongst several lounge seating arrangements throughout the venue with breathtaking thirteen thousand foot snowy peaks.

    Attendees will also get to participate in interactive retail as vendors won’t just be selling unique offerings but showcasing their craft and getting shoppers involved with their purchases.

    Attendees have the option to attend Session 1 from 12pm to 3pm or Session 2 from 4pm to 7pm, each for $50 a ticket or $25 for non-drinkers.

    Are you interested in connecting with the landscapes of Ouray? Do you desire more knowledge of the regional plants and animals that inhabit the San Juans? Or do you simply wish for a fun and engaging exploration that you can share with your family? On February 14th from 9am - 1pm, join San Juan Mountains Association on our free, interpretive hike to explore our winter landscape and reveal how a little sun can make life in winter a whole lot easier. We will compare and contrast shady North Slopes with other “sunnier” hillsides in the Ouray Valley.

    The Nature of Ironton Snowshoe/Hike | Feb. 28 | Ironton Nordic Trail Parking Lot | 9 AM-1 PM

    Join SJMA in a hiking/snowshoeing tour of the Corkscrew Gulch area to explore the nearby wetlands and forest communities in search of animal tracks and signs to decipher the mysterious stories of animal survival in winter. We will share some of the special stories of the animals that survive and thrive in winter amidst a snowy/ice landscape.
